Washy Washy!

Merry Christmas! I just got back from a long cruise in the Caribbean. Overall it was a relaxing trip, though, it could have been a little bit shorter. I had to rely on motion sickness pills to avoid seasickness, and that left me drowsy for most of the day, but at least I survived.
Greetings from Nassau in The Bahamas! :)

The workers on board were incredibly friendly, we had to use hand sanitizer before entering almost any room and they’d always greet us with “Washy Washy!” and a large spray bottle. Am I the only one with an aversion for hand sanitizer? Don’t get me wrong, I always wash my hands with soap and water when necessary but I absolutely hate hand sanitizer. >_<



San Juan was probably my favorite stop. The architecture is so charming.

Making Improvements

When I first began redesigning the layout to my personal portfolio (daisygeng.com) in September, I wanted something that was simple, elegant, and memorable. I had a grandiose of ideas pop in my head (many of which were discarded through iterations) and finally finished coding it in October. However, the more I clicked around, I noticed a lot of small details that could have been fixed or perfected. I re-coded & re-designed some areas this past weekend, and now two days and 1 cup of coffee later, I present a more refined version! I wanted to include you in my thought process, so here is a quick case-study on the changes I made and my reasoning. :)

Not gonna lie, I’m a pretty huge fan of this. 

Found this old gem posted on the illustrious tumblr. I can’t believe it’s been 4.5 years already? I originally made it for the Soompi (soompi.com) Vs. Illustrious (no longer around =/ ) graphic battle, where members from both forums nominated graphic designers to be on a team of 10 to go head on. I forgot who I versed, but I remember his piece was equally amazing. That entire battle really produced a lot of inspiring work overall. I really miss those times.

I still can’t believe I was 17.. seems just like yesterday.
